Founder Director and Secretary General of IACCI, appointed in 1992, and Executive Director of the Indo Arab Chamber of Commerce & Industries since 1983 — known affectionately among African delegates as “Mama Africa,” in recognition of her nearly four decades of association with the Chamber.
Born in Mumbai on September 5th, she graduated from HR College Mumbai and pursued further study at Mumbai University, specializing in law, arbitration, export/import, finance, banking, and economics. Over 32 years in the industry, she has managed seven leasing and finance companies, five cooperative credit societies, and three social institutions, and previously represented a major bank for several years.
She is widely regarded as a brand ambassador for Africa, credited with promoting bilateral trade and investment between India and African nations across a four-decade career in Afro-Arab business diplomacy.
